Robert F. "Bud" Jagusch, age 87 of Red Wing, died Monday, November 23, 2009 at St. Brigid's at Hi-Park in Red Wing. Bud was born on December 17, 1921, in Plaza, North Dakota to Jack and Adeline Jagusch. The family moved to and from Plaza several times until Bud was born and the family settled down at a home on Hay Creek Road. Bud and Martha met in November of 1945, the couple dated for a year and a half. Bud proposed to Martha for Christmas 1946. They were married at United Lutheran Church in Red Wing at 8 p.m. on Flag Day, Saturday, June 14, 1947. Bud and Martha had two girls, Carol and Helen. After returning from the service, Bud worked at Johnson's Tire Shop. Then Bud and Martha bought the boat livery in Red Wing. Bud changed jobs and sold General Motors cars for Jorgenson's from 1955 to 1960. Then he sold real estate with his brother Wally at Twin Bluff Realty. Bud retired from Banitt Motors after selling Chrysler vehicles from 1963 until 1978. Bud developed social contacts through his many occupations. Throughout this time Bud maintained his strawberry patch for over 20 years. Bud was a proud United States Army World War II Veteran and a Purple Heart Recipient. In later years Bud traveled back to Germany to revisit the places where he was stationed during the war. He spent 29 winters in Texas.

Bud is survived by his daughters Carol (Neil) Sideen of Howard Lake and Helen (Roger) Manthei of Danube, Minnesota; brother Wallace (Dorothy) Jagusch of Red Wing; brother-in-law Marvin Bang. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha in 2006, his parents, and sister Norma Bang.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 28 at United Lutheran Church in Red Wing with Reverend Randall Johnson officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, November 27 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and also one hour prior to the service at church. Memorials preferred to United Lutheran Church or the Military Order of the Purple Heart. Arrangements handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
