ROCHESTER The funeral for Robert O. "Bob" Cleveland will be 9:30 a.m. Monday at Mount Olive Lutheran Church with Rev. Siri Strommen Campbell officiating. The graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
Mr. Cleveland, 89, of Rochester, died Thursday (Feb. 25, 2010), after a lengthy illness, at the Golden Living Center East in Rochester, Minnesota.
Bob was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Dec. 23, 1920. He was raised in Minneapolis and Deephaven, MN. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, from 1942 to 1945 in the Pacific Theater. After his discharge from the Army he worked as a bus driver in Minneapolis. On Aug. 1, 1959 he married Dolores Haggberg in Hopkins, MN. The couple lived in Deephaven where he worked in the Bus Business. Bob moved to Rochester in 1977 and was a bus driver for Madonna Towers until his retirement. He was a member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church and enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife Dolores; his daughter, Kim (Bob) Welsh of Rochester; his son, Kent (Patty) of Rogers, MN; grandchildren Chris & Nick Welsh of Rochester; and Kyra & Lydia Cleveland of Rogers; two sisters, Delores Walker of Chaska, MN; and Charolette Jackley of Mound, MN; and his brother Harold (Shirley) of Sun City, AZ. His parents and two brothers preceded him in death.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church, where a reception will be held after the service.
Memorials are suggested to Mount Olive Lutheran Church or the family.
