Robert "Chuck" Wilson

February 5, 1936 — March 7, 2024

Red Wing

Robert Charles Wilson passed away March 7, 2024, in Red Wing, at 88.

Chuck was born in Pipestone Minn. on February 5, 1936 to Charles and Florence (Gannon) Wilson.  In high school  he enjoyed sports, hunting pheasants, but not school.  Chuck married his lasting love, Delores Miller, June 7, 1958. They moved to Red Wing in 1959 and made their forever home on 12th St.

He worked for Red Wing Fiberglass, Midwest Marine, Inland Marine, Kemtex and Riviera Cabinets where he retired in 1992.  Many lasting friendships were formed at his workplaces.

Chuck played softball and shot pool for Bayside for many years. The family enjoyed camping and vacationing at lakes in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Raising and showing pigeons was his hobby. He collected baseball cards and met many former players at card shows. Chuck and Dee were able to travel for a few years. Some great trips were to England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. When traveling ended for Chuck, he read ... LOTS.

Sadly, Chuck was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years in January 2021; also, by his parents and siblings: Warren Gannon, Gerald, William, Richard and Mary Wilson; brothers-in-law, John Jolley and Ronald Freier; and sister-in-law, Donna Gannon.

He is survived by his children Kimberly (Robert Borgschatz) Wilson of Bellechester, Chris (Jody) Wilson of Red Wing and Randy (Linda) Wilson of Lake City; grandchildren, Tasha Storing, Ryan Cody, Aaron (Karisa) Cody, Mindy Shoen, Kristie (Pete) Bauer, Ashley (Will) Saucier and Mallory (Jeff) Duea; fourteen great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Geraldine Jolley; nephews, Tom Gannon and Jeff Jolley; and nieces, Deb Schmuck and Jill Jolley.

Private burial for Chuck and Dee will be held at a later date at St. Leo's Cemetery in Pipestone, Minn. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
