Robert Lee Carson

A memorial service for Robert Carson will be held Saturday June 3rd at 11:00 AM at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Rochester Chapel. The Reverend Carol Shaffer will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, and private Masonic Rites will be at 9:30 AM. Interment of the urn, with military honors, will be Monday June 5th at 2:00 PM at the Minnesota State Veterans' Cemetery in Preston.
Robert Lee Carson was born April 12, 1930 in Oregon, Missouri, the son of Fred and Maudine Carson. Raised there, he enlisted in the Army in 1948 and served his country during the Korean War in Japan and Korea. In 1951, Robert brought his father to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, where he met Bette Lou Burton. They were married on November 22, 1952 in Pine Island. Robert worked for Braniff International Airlines, then for Midland Constructors in Dodge Center, and then IBM in Rochester. He was a past master of the Masonic Lodge, and a member of the VFW, and the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife Bette Carson of Rochester; sons, R. Scott (Yvonne) Carson of Cottage Grove, and Michael James (Deb) Carson of Red Wing; daughters, Karen Louise (David) Sebesta of Hudson, Wisconsin, and Barbara Jo Carson of Rochester; grandchildren, Leah (Aaron) Hintgen of Mondovi, Wisconsin, Aaron Carson, Will Carson, and Austin Carson, all of Minneapolis; and 2 great-granddaughters, Yuli and Talia Hintgen. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Shirley Andrews and Nancy Gabbert; and a brother, Larry Carson.
