Robert C. Burfeind

Robert Charles Burfeind, 87, of Lake City, died Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at his home. He was born December 8, 1919 in West Albany Township to John and Edith (Schumacher) Burfeind. On June 16, 1946, he married Marie Holst at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City. He farmed in Lake City for his entire life and was also a rural mail carrier for 30 years, retiring in 1981. Marie died April 5, 2001. He married Irma Dose on May 17, 2003 at St. John's Lutheran Church. Robert was an active member of St. John's Church and he was active in various civic and community organizations.

He is survived by his wife, Irma, of Lake City; 3 children, Charles (Sharon Johnson) Burfeind of Oakdale, Minn., Sandra (Michael) Livermore of Maple Grove, Minn., and Howard Burfeind of Lake City; 1 grandson, Matthew Livermore of Portland, Oregon; 1 step-granddaughter, Tammy Johnson; 4 step-children, John (Sue Engen) Dose of Lake City, James (Marcy) Dose of Lake City, Janice (Frederick) Fredrickson of Zumbrota and
Joel (Deb) Dose of Lake City; several step-grandchildren and a foster daughter and her family, Christie, Dave and Seth Kuhn of Collinsville, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Marie.

Funeral service will be 2 pm Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City with Reverends Scott Carmichael and Dennis Valleau officiating. Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dr. David Fischer, Dave Kuhn, Leonard Rosenberg, and John, Jim and Joel Dose. Honorary pallbearer will be Dennis Vanni. Visitation will be 4-7:30 pm at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel and for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials preferred to the St. John's Cemetery Association.
