Robert Arthur Benjamin, 78, of Blue Eye, Missouri, formerly of Minnesota, passed away on Friday, October 22, 2010 at St. John's Regional Health Center in Springfield, Missouri.
He was born on June 9, 1932 in Lake City, the son of Arthur and Isabelle Benjamin. He attended Zumbro Falls and Mazeppa Public Schools and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He joined the U.S. Army in 1949 and was discharged in 1952. He served in Korea and Japan.
He was united in marriage to Marjorie Ball in 1953 in California and then to Muriel Reding in 1993 in Missouri. He was the owner and operator of Bomar Designs in 1968 in California and moved the business to Branson, Missouri in 1985 and then retired in 1996.
He is survived by his wife, Muriel Benjamin; two sons, Guy Benjamin of Benicia, California, and Davis (Janet) Benjamin of Temecula, California; two daughters, Robin (Kenny) Bell of Winchester, California, and Diane (Mark) Reese of Ft. Mojave, Arizona; a step-daughter, Debra Burnick of Rochester; one brother, Richard Benjamin of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; three half-sisters, Diane Schuth and Nancy Cary, both of Wabasha, and Linda Benjamin of La Crosse, Wisconsin; seven grandchildren, Aushlee Benjamin, Joshua, Courtney and Steven Benjamin, Brittany, Mark and Mason Reese; and two step-grandchildren, Matt and Tim Burnick.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son; and a step-son.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Minnesota.
