Rita (McNamara) Sahli

Rita Marlene Sahli,  90, of Red Wing, died Thursday, October 28, 2021 at her home.  She was born September 1, 1931 in New Richmond, WI to Myles and Anna (Salmon) McNamara.  She graduated from New Richmond High School, then moved to Minneapolis where she worked at a bank for a few years.  She met Virgil Sahli on a blind date and they were married on June 25, 1955 in Minneapolis.  They moved to Bloomington and then to Red Wing in 1972.  They owned and operated Red Wing Glass for many years, retiring in 1995.  She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed going to the casino, trips to Las Vegas, and trips to Lake Havasu in the winter.  She also enjoyed spending time golfing, bowling, socializing and being with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by six children, Patrick (Cyd) Sahli, Ronald (Jayne) Sahli, Donald (Joyce) Sahli, James (Lisa) Sahli, John (Debbie) Sahli and Mary Jo (Marty) Kelly; 18 grandchildren, Alex Sahli, Andrew Sahli, Laura (Aaron) Nelson, Stephanie (Mike) Gilbertson, Michael (Kaitlin) Sahli, Shawn Sahli, Elliott (Tara) Sahli, Lucas (Jessica) Sahli, Scott (Lauren) Sahli, Ellen Sahli, Nicholas Sahli, Hannah (Colton) Carter, Myles Sahli, Brianna (Andrew) Snyder, Sara Kelly, Jack Kelly, Megan Kelly, and Sam Kelly; 13 great grandchildren; one sister, Anne Potting; four brothers, Eugene, Richard (Gail), Terrance, Kenneth (Diane); and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Virgil; brothers, Pat, Jack, and Tom.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at the Church of St. Joseph with Father Brandon Theisen presiding.  Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Church.  Memorials are preferred to Mayo Hospice.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
