Rita Jean Newman

Rita Jean (Arnold) Newman, 75, of Rochester, passed away peacefully surrounded by family after battling pancreatic cancer for over a year. She was born in Chatfield, MN. on October 18, 1944 to Everett & Deina (Zimmerman) Arnold. She Graduated from Chatfield High School and was a CNA at Assisi Heights and Madonna Towers before retiring at age 62. Rita and Larry met in 1975 and were married January 26, 1979 and raised five children. She enjoyed hunting and fishing with Larry; she would often tell the kids to, "Hop in the Bronco we're going fishing." She also loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Rita is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; two sisters; and three infant siblings.

She is survived by her husband, Larry; Children, Lisa Stevens Hanson of Spring Valley, MN; Brad (Georgia) Stevens of Westminster, CO; Chris Stevens of Thornton, CO; Shannon (Dan) Wentzel of Colorado Springs, CO; Shawn (Shawn) Milliken of Rochester, MN; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Family asks that memorials be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
