Rita Marie Baker, 57, of Hager City, died Friday, December 6, 2019 at her home, after a brief battle with cancer. She was born July 22, 1962, in St. Paul to David and Joyce (McQuade) Davis. She grew up in Diamond Bluff, Wisconsin and graduated from Prescott High School in 1980. She worked at various places, including the St. James Hotel, Red Wing Shoe Company, and Viking Drill and tool for the past 15 years. Together she and her daughter farmed on the family farm. Rita loved camping (especially with her White Tail Ridge campground family), fishing, ATV trail rides, being outdoors and starting a good campfire.
Rita was always the life of the party and she brought everyone with her along for the ride. She was endlessly social and could make anyone laugh. More than anything, she loved being surrounded by family. During her brief illness, she stayed true to herself and her upbeat nature. Rita was known by many and loved by all.
She is survived by her mother, Joyce Davis; her only child, Cheryl (Chris) Nelson; a brother, Elmer Davis; sisters, Angela Donley, Amy Dosdall and Penny Drew; sisters-in-law, Beverly (Galen) Sneesby and Lori (Steven) Goutermont; brothers-in-law, Bill (Judy) Baker and Dennis (Kelli) Baker; special friend, Terry Aamodt and multiple niece, nephews, cousins and all of her beloved friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, David Davis; brother, Stanley "Ollie" Davis; sister, Jennifer Justice; mother and father in-law, Stuart and Evelyn Baker and a brother-in-law, Ronnie Dosdall.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. On line condolences maybe left for her family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
