Rita M. Agrey

Rita Marguerte Agrey, 79, of Red Wing, died Monday July, 6, 2015 at the Red Wing Health Community. She was born August 11, 1935 in Grass Range, MT to Windfield and Leona Finkbiener (Smith). She grew up and attended school there, graduating in 1953. The same year, she joined the U.S. Navy because it had the best nurses training. It was there she met her husband, Neal Agrey and the couple was legally married on March 1, 1957. Following her honorable discharge, they had a church wedding that June. Following the birth of their son, Steve, the couple settled in Rochester where she worked at the Olmsted Community Hospital for 10 years. After their daughter, Karie was born she moved to Methodist Hospital where she worked for 9 years. Later, she worked with her husband and son at Richman Bootery for more than 6 years before it went out of business. The family later moved to Florida and to Kansas before moving back to Red Wing in 1995 where she and Neal worked at Treasure Island Casino.
Rita joins her beloved husband; son, Steve; and all of her siblings in Heaven.
She is survived by her daughter, Karie (Steve) Forman of Yankton, SD; granddaughters, Dish Shore and Kalsey (Derak) Agrey-Laplante; grandson Marshall (Angie) Agrey; great grandsons, Ryan and Logan; daughter-in-law, Julee (Tom) Agrey-Petrovic.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at Marie's Underground Grill and Tap House in Red Wing. Arrangements with the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
