Rickie Lee Hanson, 69, of Red Wing, died Monday, November 16, 2020 at the Mayo Clinic Health Systems – Red Wing. He was born February 21, 1951 in Red Wing to Vernon and Helen (Freeberg) Hanson. He graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1969. He worked various places round town, including Joe’s Mobile, Larry’s Broiler, Rivera Cabinets and finally, Goodhue County where he worked for 35 years, retiring in 2010. He married Rebecca Mason on August 30, 1997 at United Lutheran Church in Red Wing where he was a member.

Rickie was very musical and enjoyed playing the harmonica and bongo drums. He was always listening to radio. He appreciated patriotic symbols like eagles and the American Flag. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and visiting with friends, and was happiest enjoying a cold PBR on a warm summer day.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca of Red Wing; son, Ray Hanson of Kansas City, Missouri; three grandchildren, Lexi, Jack and Dane Hanson; two brothers, Perry and Tyrone Hanson, both of Red Wing; nieces and nephews and special friends, Lynn Wolfram of Chippewa Falls, WI, Sherry Flory of Holcomb, WI, Debbie Lanigan, Franny Hayman and Nancy Gibbons all of Red Wing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Vernon Hanson; as well as his aunts and uncles.

Memorial service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, November 21, 2020 at United Lutheran Church with Reverend Justin Boeding officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church.
