Rickey "Rick" Dettmer age 55 of Lake City passed away February 13, 2013 at Methodist Hospital in Rochester.
Rick was born February 19, 1957 in Topeka, Kansas to Clarence & Jean (Christensen) Dettmer. Rick grew up in Lake City and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1975. He worked a Federal Mogul for many years. He married Jane Siewert June 19, 1982 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City. Rick was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, the Lakesters Car Club, several snowmobile clubs and Local 650. He enjoyed restoring old muscle cars and he won many trophies for the cars that he restored. He also enjoyed going to car shows, swap meets, snowmobile drags, antiquing, and reading. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.
He is survived by his wife Jane of Lake City, daughter, Leslie Dettmer, of Lake City; mother, Jean Dettmer of Lake City; two sisters Kim Dettmer of St. Paul, Cheryl (Paul Stensland) Dettmer of Lino Lakes, MN. He was preceded in death by his father Clarence Dettmer, sister Stephanie Denzer, and grandparents.
