Richard George Tri

A graveside memorial service in celebration of the lives of Richard and Geraldine Tri will be held Monday December 7th at 11:00 AM at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Mazeppa. The Reverend Shawn Haremza will preside. Richard Tri, 92, of Pine Island, died Saturday November 28, 2020 at Mayo Clinic Hospital – St. Mary’s campus in Rochester. Mrs. Tri died at the age of 88 in 2014.

Richard George Tri was born March 31, 1928 in Bellechester, Minnesota, the son of Alexander and Dorothea Tri. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1947 to 1948. He and his wife, Geraldine (Schiesser) Tri were married on August 27, 1949. Richard farmed near Pine Island and had a milk route in the 1950s and 1960s. Following retirement, they lived in Mazeppa, Zumbrota, and Pine Island. Richard has resided at Pine Haven Care Center for the past five years. Mr. and Mrs. Tri were members at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mazeppa.

Richard and Geraldine are survived by two sons, Larry Tri of Pine Island, and Dennis Tri of Wanamingo. Richard is survived by a sister, Marce Erickson of Pine Island, a brother-in-law Jan Schiesser of New York City, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Geraldine, brothers Wilfred, Oswald, and Robert; sisters-in-law Lorraine Tri, Irene Tri, and LaVerna Tri; brothers-in-law, Adrian Erickson, Rob Schiesser, and Allen Schiesser.

Mahn Family Funeral Home, Larson Chapel, in Zumbrota is in charge of arrangements.
