Richard Mark McGowan, 68, of Red Wing, died Sunday, April 20, 2014 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Red Wing. He was born on December 23, 1945, in Janesville, Wisconsin to Hamilton and Lillian (Berg) McGowan. He graduated from high school in Janesville. He worked as a milkman in Janesville and then for many years worked for Owen Vending Company. On May 9, 1998 he married Lucinda Larson. For the past several years he has resided in Red Wing. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, camping and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy; four children, Tracey (Jody) McGowan of Eau Claire, Wis., Connie (Rollie) Thomas of Quincy, Ill., Donna (fiance Sean Schuh) McGowan of Menomoine, Wis., and Melissa Hoeff of Eau Claire; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Marty Berg of Janesville, Steve (Katie) McGowan of Seattle, Wash. and Michael McGowan of Pekauwee, Wis. and one sister, Judy (Terrance) Fuller of Milwaukee. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Rev. Tim Anderson officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Online condolences may be sent to www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
