Richard Allen Kulseth was born on September 2, 1941 in Thief River Falls to Joseph and Minnie (Olson) Kulseth. He served in the US Navy and the Merchants Marine traveling all over the world during his service time. He worked for the State Corrections for 21 years retiring as a boiler engineer. On August 3, 1991 he married Dorothy Trelstad and they made their home in Red Wing. He enjoyed NASCAR racing, camping, fishing listening to music especially yodeling and polka music and being and playing with his grandchildren. Richard died Wednesday, February 4, 2009 in Red Wing at the age of 67 years, 4 months and 15 days.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; one sister, Sandra (Denny) Johnson of Mesquite, Texas; two-step children, Thomas (Angie) Trelstad of Wanamingo and Kathy (Jay) Lutz of Rochester; five grandchildren, Sara, Susan and Nathan Lutz of Rochester and Alex and Bethany Trelstad of Wanamingo; one sister-in-law, Jean Miller of Rochester and one brother-in-law, Robert Webster of Village, Florida and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and aunts and uncles.
