Richard David Kukuska, 37, of Bay City, died Sunday at United Hospital in St. Paul. He was born on November 25, 1968 in Oakland, California to Stanley and Delphine (Vinge) Kukuska. He attended schools in Maiden Rock and graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1987. In 1989 he graduated from the Red Wing Technical College in the Auto/Light Truck Mechanics program. For six years he was a member of the 544th maintenance Army Reserve Unit out of Wabasha, Minn. Since 1994 he has been employed at Federal Mogul in Lake City as a machinist. He also raised feeder cattle and grain farmed in the Maiden Rock area. He enjoyed restoring his 1970 Ford truck, for which he received many awards, along with doing carpentry work and spending time with his niece and nephew and other family and friends. Survivors include his parents of Maiden Rock; one brother, Jeffery (Kristi) Kukuska of Red Wing; one sister, Stacy Kukuska of Maiden Rock; paternal grandfather, Stanley Kukuska of River Falls; one niece, Kaitlynn Kukuska and one nephew, Zachary Kukuska both of Red Wing along with aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Norman and Hilda Vinge, one aunt, Norma Duffy, paternal grandmother, Jessie Kukuska and one cousin and two uncles. Funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday, November 24, 2006 at New River Assembly of God Church with Rev. Tom Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Burnside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matt Mason, Keith O?Brien, Len Keck, Charles Hager, Stan Johnson and John Kuesel. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
