Richard W. Krause age 67 of Pine Island died suddenly on Friday, February 17, 2006 while on a bus trip in Yankton, SD. A funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, February 23, 206 at 11:00 A.M. at Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Pine Island with Rev?s Kip Groettum & John Torris Lohre co-officiating and Steve Hoffman participating in the service. Interment will be in Pine Island Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday from 4:00 ? 8:00 P.M. at the Mahn Family Funeral Home ? Mahler Chapel in Pine Island and on Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church.Richard William Krause was born on August 19, 1938 in Pine Island Township, Goodhue Co., MN to Edward E. and Ruth L. (nee Lee) Krause. He grew up in the Pine Island area and graduated from Pine Island High School in 1956. Richard drove milk truck until 1958 when he started working for IBM. On October 24, 1959 he married Joan M. Kasel in Meyer, IA. They made their home in Pine Island. In 1966 Richard and his brother Roger purchased the Greenway Co-op Station in Pine Island and together they ran it until selling in 1984. Richard then drove truck for Land-O-Lakes until retiring in 1999. After retiring he worked part-time driving bus for Northfield Lines and Kennedy Bus Line. Richard was a member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church and enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, traveling and visiting casinos. Richard is survived by his wife Joan, one son, Brian (Jody) Krause of Pine Island, four daughters, Brenda (Dennis) Kunz of West Concord, Bonnie Krause of Pine Island, Beverly (Harold) Mancilman of Goodhue and Ruth (Dave) Felstead of Chatfield, twelve grandchildren, Becky (John) Mancilman, Jeffrey, Matt and David Kunz, Alesha, Brad and Hope Krause, Angela and Kristina Mancilman, Justin, Ben and Danielle Felstead, two great grandchildren, Alyssa and Tanner Mancilman, one brother, Roger (Judy) Krause of Pine Island and two sisters, Betty (Donald) Peterson of Pine Island and Virginia (Leon) Markham of Mantorville. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter Tasha Mancilman, one sister, Sharon Klingsporn and two brothers, Edward Krause Jr, and Russell Krause.
