Richard Allen Kizer, 75, of Red Wing, died Sunday, November 29, 2015, at Deer Crest after suffering a stroke. He was born June 8, 1940, in Pepin, Wisconsin to Helmer and Sylvia (Rothbarth) Kizer and attended school in both Pepin and Red Wing. On October 8, 1960, he was united in marriage to Beatrice Ripley at United Methodist Church in Red Wing. In 1970, he started Kizer Construction, and for 55 years had built homes in the Red Wing area.
Richard is survived by his wife, Beatrice; 2 daughters, Kerin Marek of Rochester and Kelly Kizer of Red Wing; 3 grandchildren, Kassandra Kizer, Megan Marek and Kolton Anderson; 4 great-grandchildren, Mariana, Angelika, Dominic and Kamilla and 3 siblings, Linda (Paul) Flynn of Balsam Lake, Wis., Sharon Goodwin of Kent, Wash. and Gerald (Sue) Kizer of Red Wing.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald.
Richard's family will be having a private gathering to celebrate his life. Memorials are preferred to Red Wing Mayo Hospice or American Cancer Society.
