Richard J. Gorcowski age 37 of Pine Island died on Friday, December 7, 2007 of injuries received in a motor vehicle accident near Dexter, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at 11:00 AM at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Pine Island with Father Timothy Dolan officiating. Visitation is scheduled for Monday, December 10, 2007 from
4:00 ? 7:00 PM at the Mahn Family Funeral Home ? Mahler Chapel in Pine Island and on Tuesday one hour prior to the mass at the church.
Richard John Gorcowski was born on January 6, 1970 in Hazel Crest, IL to Richard S. and Dolores J. (nee Sendra) Gorcowski. He grew up in the Chicago area and graduated from Thornridge High School in 1988. He enrolled at the St. Louis College of Pharmacy. On August 14, 1993 he married Sherry L. Sollami in Herrin, IL. He graduated from the St. Louis College of Pharmacy in 1994. He worked as a pharmacist for several stores in Illinois, before they moved to Kasson in 1999. Richard worked as a pharmacist for Econo Foods-North in Rochester, Weber & Judd Drug Store in Pine Island and was currently the pharmacy manager for Sterling Drug in Austin. Sherry is currently the pharmacist at the Weber & Judd Drug Store in Pine Island. He is a member of the Minnesota Pharmacist Association. Richard was an avid fisherman and White Sox fan and he enjoyed sipping his brew, smoking his stogies, snowmobiling and riding a four wheeler with his little buddy Rocco and needling friends and family.
Richard is survived by his wife Sherry, one son Rocco, one daughter, Stephanie, both at home, his parents, Richard and Dolores Gorcowski of Crete, IL, one brother, Ronald (Lynne) Gorcowski of Beecher, IL, special uncle, Leonard Gorcowski of Monee, Il, other uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family suggests memorials be sent to an education fund for Rocco and Stephanie Gorcowski at any Wells Fargo Bank in Rochester.
