Richard Dossett, 85, of Rochester, died Saturday (Aug. 11, 2012) at Sunrise Cottages in Rochester where he had resided since January of this year.
Born Feb. 14, 1927 in Mankato, MN he was raised in Janesville, MN where he graduated from High School. He served in the U.S. Army from June 1945 to December 1946. Richard attended the Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis where he was trained as an electrician. He was a member of Local 343 International Brotherhood of Electric Workers for thirty six years working in the Southeastern Minnesota area. On Feb. 21, 1959 he married Marion P. Wagner in Mason City, IA. The couple lived in Albert Lea, Austin, and Rochester.
Survivors include his wife Marion, of Rochester; two daughters Susan (Larry) Schmeling, and Margery (Ronnie) Schmeling, both of Blooming Prairie, MN; his son Steven (Kim) Dossett of Rochester; two grandchildren Ashley and Cody Schmeling, and his brother Neal (Cynthia) Dossett of Lester Prairie, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Mahn Family Funeral Home - Rochester Chapel assisted the family with arrangements.
