Rhonda K. Johnson

Rhonda Kay Johnson, 71, passed away at her home in Red Wing on April 5, 2025, surrounded by her family, who were lovingly able to care for her in her home, along with attentive care from St. Croix hospice.

She was born on November 30, 1953, in Red Wing, Minnesota, to Elton and Dorothy (Ahrens) Damman and graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1972.

Rhonda had a varied career, working in several local establishments including Busy Bee Laundromat, Larry's Broiler, Ferrin's Furniture and the Golden Lantern. However, she spent the majority of her working life with the Red Wing School District. In her time there, she took on numerous roles as a cook, custodian, student transport or wherever she was needed, showcasing her dedication to her community.

Known for her outgoing and friendly personality, Rhonda was non-judgmental and caring, making her a cherished friend to many. Her love for her dogs, enjoying concerts with friends, and her unwavering support for the MN Vikings brought joy to her life and those around her.

Rhonda is survived by her 2 children, Sean Johnson and Jessica (Dustin) Kisor, both of Red Wing; 2 grandchildren, Ellie and Eli Johnson and her siblings, Fred (Nancy) Damman and Nancy Damman both of Red Wing. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Robert Damman and Linda Damman.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 14, 2025 at St. John’s Lutheran Church with Reverend Peter Sternberg officiating. Visitation will be for one our prior to the service. Burial will take place at St. John’s Cemetery. Arrangements handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
