Rhodus Lynner

Rhody Lynner, 87, died peacefully early Saturday morning at his home in Red Wing with his wife, Jean, at his side. He was born April 23, 1924 to Arthur and Katherine Lynner. Rhody graduated from Red Wing H.S. in 1943 and married Jean Siewert in 1944. Together they danced across the country building a varied career resume and a family, but always returned to their beloved Red Wing. Most knew Rhody as the 17 year manager of Red Wing Country Club, repeat club champion and owner of RJ Golf Carts. He was an American Legion member and proud to be the longest tenured Red Wing Elks member; recently named Elk of the year. Jean and Rhody wintered in Florida where they made lifelong friends and were very active in the North FT Myers Elks Club.
Rhody is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Jean; devoted sister, June Thumann; and three children, Shelby Jonas, Terry (Debra) Lynner and Lori Tessier. He has 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren to carry on his legacy of living large, making friends, and always rooting for underdogs. Rhody loved life, people and a quick wit. He will be missed.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Aug 3 from 4-7 pm at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and for one hour prior to the service at the church. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Aug 4 at 2:30pm at First Lutheran Church in Red Wing with Reverend Brian Scott officiating. There will be a celebration of Rhody's life following the service at 4:00 p.m. at the Red Wing Elks Lodge. Memorials preferred to the Red Wing Golf Club or the Red Wing Elks Lodge BPOE 845.
