Reynold (Ray) Steffenhagen age 88 of Lake City passed away December 18, 2008 at the Lake City Nursing Home.

Reynold was born June 8, 1920 in Lake City, MN to Albert & Hilda (Wohlers) Steffenhagen. He married Lauda Steffenhagen August 29, 1942 in Lake City. After they were married they farmed and owned and operated Sugar Loaf Valley Dairy in Florence Township until 1963 when they retired and moved to Lake City. He joined the Army and served from 1944 to 1946 during the Korean War. He worked for the US Postal Service for 25 years until retiring in 1982. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City, American Legion Post 110, VFW Post 8729, Lake City Lions Club and the Lake City Country Club were he served on the Board of Directors for many years, and he also served as secretary of the bowling league in Lake City. He was an avid bowler and his biggest highlight in bowling was when he bowled a 702 series in 1967, he was inducted into the Lake City Bowling Hall of Fame. He was also very active in the town baseball team for many years. His wife Lauda passed away March 26, 2002.

He is survived by three sons, William of Onalaska, WI, Jon (Virginia) of Lake City, Ronald (Mary Jo) of Maple Plain, MN; one daughter, Lynn (Robert) Antoine of Spring Lake Park, MN; 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, daughter in-law, Judy Steffenhagen of Lake City; a sister, Arlene Peters of FL. He was preceded in death by his wife and a brother Eldon Steffenhagen.

A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City at 2:00 pm with Rev. Dennis Valleau officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in Lake City. Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City. Friends may also call one hour before the service at the church.
