Raymond Gust Thumann

Raymond Gust Thumann, 87, Hastings, died Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Augustana Nursing Home in Hastings. He was born July 18, 1923, in Red Wing, the son of Gust John and Svea Amelia (Johnson) Thumann. He attended schools in Goodhue County and he worked at Red Wing Pottery before joining the U. S. Navy. He returned to Red Wing, then moved to Hastings and worked at the U. S. Postal Service in St. Paul until retiring. He enjoyed fishing and hanging out with family and friends.

Survivors include one sister, Jeanne Horsch of Hastings; one step-sister, Lorraine Swanson of Shoreview; one aunt, Arlana Johnson of Phoenix, AZ, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be 1 p. m. Monday, March 21, 2011 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Dar Reeck officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
