PINE ISLAND - Raymond S. "Ray" Page, age 91, of Pine Island, formerly of Judson, MN, died Friday (Apr. 22, 2011) at Evergreen Place Senior Living in Pine Island, MN.

Raymond Sylvester Page was born Dec. 5, 1919 in Elko, MN to Albert and Millie (Erickson) Page. He was raised in Elko and graduated from High School in Lakeville, MN. He worked with his father at the Commander Elevator Line in Elko until 1942 when he entered the U.S. Army. He served under General Patton in the European-African Middle Eastern Theater as a resupply driver, having served during the Battle of the Bulge. After his discharge in January of 1946 he returned to Elko. He married Harriet Delores McBroom in 1948 in Renville, MN. Ray then worked for the Commander Elevator Line in Eagle Lake, MN before moving to Judson, MN in 1950 where he managed the Elevator until 1980 when he went to work for an Electrical Supply Company retiring in 1985. Ray enjoyed vegetable gardening, fishing, deer hunting, and traveling. He was a long-time member of the Lutheran Church in Judson where he was involved many church activities. The couple moved to Pine Island in April of 2009.

Survivors include his wife, twenty two nieces and nephews, and numerous grand nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, and two brothers.

The funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Mahn Family Funeral Home - Mahler Chapel in Pine Island with Rev. John Torris Lohre of Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Pine Island officiating. Burial will be at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Friends may call one hour before the service at the funeral home.
