Raymond J. Dahl age 91 of Lake City, MN passed away Monday, August 24, 2009 at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Wabasha, MN.
Raymond was born November 22, 1917 in Pilot Mound, MN to Peter and Emma (Johnson) Dahl. He attended School in Pilot Mound, MN. On March 12, 1947 he married Laura Crowson in North Prairie, MN. Raymond farmed in the Chatfield area. While living in Lake City, MN he worked at Golden Loaf for 2 years and as a machine operator for Federal Mogul in Lake City for 32 years. Ray also worked at the Jewell Nursery in Lake City for 16 years. Laura passed away on February 6, 1985. Raymond married Bernice Walters November 10, 1990. They continued living in Lake City after they were married. Bernice passed away February 26, 2001. Ray was a member of First Lutheran Church in Lake City. He enjoyed fishing, and traveling extensively throughout the United States with Bernice. Raymond touched many people's lives in a memorable way.
Raymond is survived by three daughters, Diane (Bob) Rehder of Red Wing, MN, Cheryl (Dan Schmitz) Edelbach of Kellogg, MN, Robin (Joseph) Mathews of Red Wing, MN; son, Rick (Deb Schumann) Dahl of Rochester, MN.; five grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; four Step - daughters ,Bonnie (Dan) Boots of Bloomington, MN, Patricia (Dennis) Callinan of Eagan, MN, Barbara (Rex) Novek of Red Wing, MN, Diane (Greg) Keyport of Brooklyn Park, MN; step - son, Loren (Donna) Walters of Byron, MN; seven step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wives Laura (Crowson) Dahl and Bernice (Walters) Dahl, three brothers and three sisters.
A Memorial Services will be Thursday, August 27, 2009 at 11:00 A.M at First Lutheran Church in Lake City with the Rev. Darren Paulson officiating. Burial will be in Pilot Mound Lutheran Cemetery at 2:30 pm. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City. Friends may also call one hour before the service at the church. Memorial arr prefered to any hospice or St. Elizatheth's Building Fund or to donors choice.
