Randy A. Kosnopfal

Randy A. Kosnopfal, 59, of Balsam Lake, Wis., formerly of Red Wing died Tues., July 15, 2008. Born in Olmsted County, he had worked as a correctional case manager for the State of MN and Deputy Sheriff for Polk County, Wis. He was educated at Edison High School in Minneapolis and was a graduate of Lakewood Community College. A Vietnam War Veteran, he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal. Randy enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends. Survived by his wife, Diane, of Balsam Lake, Wis.; son, Christopher of St. Croix Falls, Wis.; daughter, Trisha, of Red Wing; two loving grandsons, Thaddeus and Cedric; stepfather, Damien Dischinger of Silver Bay; brothers and sisters, Shari (Gene) Krause of Otsego, Larry (Betty) Kosnopfal of Chatfield, Robert (Ry) Kosnopfal of Rochester, Gary (Mary Jo) Kosnopfal of Milaca, Susie Kosnopfal of Mpls., Nancy Kosnopfal of Mpls., Dennis Kosnopfal of Champlin and Craig (Debbie) Kosnopfal of Ramsey & several brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews. His parents preceded him in death.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Sat. July 19, at First United Methodist Church, 403 East Ave., Red Wing, with a visitation 1 hr. prior. Burial with military honors, 10:45 a.m. Mon., July 21 at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, assembly area 2. Memorials are preferred in Randy's name to the VA Medical Center, 1 Veterans Drive, Minneapolis, Minn., 55417
