Randy D. Ketel

Rande D. Ketel, 58, of Red Wing died on Sunday, July 18, 2010 at his residence, after a brief illness. Rande was born on June 27, 1952 in Red Wing, the son of Vernon and Mariel (Bengston) Ketel. After graduating from Red Wing Central High School in 1971, Rande enlisted in the United States Army, serving from 1972 until 1974. After the Army he returned to Red Wing where he began working for the Red Wing Shoe Company where he has been employed for the past 36 years. He married Marsha Mandelkow on October 24, 1981 in Red Wing. He was a member of the Leo C. Peterson American Legion Post #54 and the Redman Club. He enjoyed being, as he would put it, "a transportation engineer"; camping; watching baseball; NASCAR; playing cards and his dog, Milo.

Rande is survived by his wife, Marsha of Red Wing; mother Mariel Ketel of Red Wing; sister Cindy (Curt Matthees) Odman of Red Wing; brother Howard (Tina) Ketel of Red Wing; niece Tera Deal; nephews Tony Swanson and Jordan Ketel; sisters-in-law Marge (Willis Buck) Deden of Red Wing and Mary Mandelkow of Red Wing; and brother-in-law Milton Mandelkow Jr. of Red Wing. He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Ketel.

Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, July 22, 2010 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Red Wing with Reverend Kristen Schlauderaff officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and also one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be at Burnside Cemetery in Red Wing with Military Honors provided by the Leo C. Peterson American Legion Post #54. Memorials are preferred to St. Paul's Lutheran Church
