Ramona Ilene Snider, 85, of Chatfield, died Monday, December 22, 2014 at the Seminary Home in Red Wing. She was born November 19, 1929 in Barron, Wisconsin, where she grew up and attended high school. After graduation she began working at Munsingwear. On August 31, 1952 she married Neil Snider in Lindstrom, Minnesota and in 1953 the couple moved to Chatfield. She worked as a tailor in the Alterations Department of Daytons in Rochester. Together they owned and operated the Chatfield Cleaners and later bought the Chatfield News and Snider Publishing which they ran until they retired. Neil passed away in October of 2013. Ramona was a member of Pioneer Presbyterian Church in Chatfield, the Presbyterian Women's Association, a member of the Eastern Star, in which she was a worthy Matron and was part of a women's bowling league. She loved all animals, especially her dogs and enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels.
She is survived by her son, Keith (Pat) of Bay City, Wis.; three grandchildren, Philip (Jennifer) Snider of Red Wing, Lynn Snider of Rochester and Gregory Snider of Rochester; eight great grandchildren, Serenna, Kaylee, Cruz, Nickolas, Sydney, Isabella, Cade and Nolan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Neil and her parents.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, December 27, 2014 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Rochester Chapel, with Reverend Maurice Hagen officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Clayton Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials preferred to Alzheimer's Association.
