Ralph Theodore Cox, 92, of Red Wing, died Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at St. Brigid's at Hi-Park. He was born on March 15, 1921 in Plainview, Minnesota to Levi and Dora (Fisher) Cox. He attended schools there and on October 6, 1944 he married Gladys Heuer in Plainview. They farmed for eight years in that area before moving to Lake City. In 1955 they moved to Red Wing where he worked for SB Foot Tannery for 30 years, retiring in 1985. After retirement he worked at Pamida, Syls Amoco and then was manager for one of the Perlich apartment buildings. Gladys died on July 15, 2007. He was a member of United Lutheran Church, enjoyed camping and watching television.
Survivors include three children, Eugene (Karen) Cox of Chanhassen, Judi (Charles) Fosberg of Hager City and Richard (Tana) Cox of Lake City; seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren along with nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; infant daughter, Susan; three brothers, Francis, Clarence and Aiden and one sister, Viola Schrieber.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday, August 23, 2013 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Rev. Justin Boeding officiating. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
