Ralph Brinkman

Ralph Alvin Brinkman, age 88, of Lake City passed away Sunday, July 17th at the Lake City Nursing Home. He was born August 7, 1922 in Mount Pleasant Township to Henry and Emma (Henning) Brinkman. He attended parochial and country school through the 8th grade - using his horse and buggy to get there.
He was a life-long member of the St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Belvidere where he was baptized and confirmed. He married Arlis Hinck on November 3, 1962 at St. Peter's Church.
Ralph loved his horses and used them to cultivate the fields until the corn got too tall. He also enjoyed riding horse with his daughters, teaching his grandsons to drive John Deere tractors, going to dances with his wife, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. Great Grandpa always got a big smile on his face every time he saw his little Kendra.
He is survived by his wife, Arlis, and daughters, Terri (Dana) Ryan of Goodhue, June Brinkman of Lake City, grandsons, Andrew Brinkman and Kurt Brinkman (special friend Jericah) and great grand-daughter Kendra Brinkman, numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Luella Heitman, 4 brothers, Roy Munger, Ray, Rudolph and Ronald Brinkman.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 with visitation one hour prior at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Belvidere with Pastor Fiege officiating. Interment will follow at the cemetery. A luncheon will follow the burial service in the church basement. Visitation will be held from 5 PM - 8 PM on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City.
