Rae R. Pahl, 93, of Mazeppa, died Sunday, August 27, 2006 at the Zumbrota Nursing Home. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Zumbrota with Pastor Eric Westlake officiating. Interment will be in Zumbrota Cemetery. Active Casketbearers will be Andy Pahl, Amy Pahl, Matt Pahl, Lisa Austin, Kris Matthees, David Liffrig and Randy Schultz. Honorary Casketbearers will be Barb Vicker, Virginia King, Donna Nolden and Jackie Prouty. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Rae R. French was born on June 30, 1913 in Zumbro Falls, Minnesota to Asa and Theressa (Jones) French. She attended grade school in Mazeppa and graduated from Zumbrota High School in 1930. Rae married Edward Pahl on September 16, 1933. The couple farmed in Zumbrota Township until 1970. Rae clerked and was a bookkeeper at Coast to Coast, and clerked at Ben Franklin, both in Zumbrota. She was a bookkeeper at Mazeppa Co-op Farm Service until her retirement in 1978. Edward died in January of 1984. In 1996, Rae moved to Riverview Apartments in Mazeppa. She was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed following the Minnesota Twins, bowling, fishing, lawn work, flowers and cards. Rae is survived by her son, David (Sandy) of Zumbrota; three grandchildren, Andy (Dawn) Pahl of La Crosse, WI, Amy Pahl of Hampton, MN and Matt (Michelle) Pahl of Missouri City, TX; four great grandchildren, Morgan, Nicholas, Megan and Claire Pahl and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; two brothers, Hugh and William French and sister, Faye Hines. Memorials are suggested to Our Saviour's Lutheran Church. Arrangements are with Mahn Family Funeral Home-Larson Chapel, Zumbrota.
