Rachel Rayburn Fagerhaug passed into the presence of her beloved Lord on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at the Zumbrota Care Center, Zumbrota, MN.
Rachel Sibley was born in Mazeppa Township, Minnesota on October 17, 1907. She spent her childhood on the family farm and attended Red Bridge School, Bright School and Mazeppa Public School.
On November 26, 1935, Rachel married Irving (Bud) Fagerhaug at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Irving passed away on December 24, 1977. She spent her life doing the things she loved - baking cookies, crocheting, reading, working crossword puzzles, music, attending family events and having coffee with her friends. Rachel was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Mazeppa where she spent many years corresponding with hospitalized members and as a member of the Ladies Aid.
Rachel will be dearly missed. She inspired and taught her family, through her example, to live fulfilling, Christian lives. She left the world a better place through her devoted and never-ending love, selflessness, and many simple acts of kindness.
Rachel is survived by her daughter, Darlene (Ivan) Frank of Mazeppa, MN; grandchildren, Merrilee (Doug) Christianson, Heather (Blaine) Hentz, and Russell (Deborah) Frank, all of Mazeppa; great-grandchildren, Shawn (Molly) Hentz, Angela (Andrew) Miller, Nichole (Jason) Farnsworth, Timothy (Emily) Frank, Annalisa (Bryce) Dohrn, Krystle Frank and Karen Muenkel; 6 great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Audrey Kuehn of Rochester; sister-in law, Lavonne Sibley, and many nieces and nephews.
Rachel is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Addie Sibley; her husband, Irving; infant son; great-grandson, Mark Muenkel; sisters: Fern Grossbach and Gail Vik; brothers: Joe Sibley, Max Sibley and David Sibley.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2008 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Mazeppa, MN at 11 a.m. with visitation an hour before the service.
Active Pallbearers: Russell Frank, Timothy Frank, Blaine Hentz, Shawn Hentz, Doug Christianson, and Andrew Miller.
Honorary Pallbearer: Martin Meerkins, Ervin Sibley, Raymond Vik, Wendell Kuehn, Wayne Kuehn, and Jerry Kuehn.
