GOODHUE ? A memorial service for Phyllis K. Majerus will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mahn Family Funeral Home ? Larson Chapel in Zumbrota with the Rev. Bruce Peterson officiating. Interment will be in Zumbrota Cemetery. Mrs. Majerus, 59, of Goodhue, died Wednesday (Mar. 1, 2006) at Red Wing Health Center in Red Wing from complications of Colon Cancer. Phyllis Kay Tackman was born to Harry and Bertha (Raasch) Tackman on Sept. 17, 1946 in Red Wing. She grew up on a farm at rural Goodhue and graduated from Goodhue High School in 1964. She then worked at Smead?s in Hastings, MN. On Feb. 12, 1966 she married John T. Majerus in Bellechester, MN. They owned and operated the Bellechester Store. She worked as a Housekeeper at the St. James Hotel in Red Wing for 15 years until her illness two years ago. She was a member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church of Bellechester. She enjoyed gardening, especially growing Gladiolas, and playing Euchre. She is survived by her husband John of Bellechester; three daughters, Julie (Chris) Bruns of Red Wing; Cathy (Tim) O?Reilly of Duluth; and Krissy (Kent) Friedrich of Zumbrota; four grandchildren Kaitlyn and Jennifer O?Reilly; and McKenna & Alex Bruns; special friend Steve Marnell of Goodhue, and his children, Dawn (Scott) Vikingson; Angel (Dale) Nord, Chris (Jerry) Dohrn, and Brian (Kathy) Ackerman, and her dog Pookah Friedrich. Her parents and Brother Forrest ?Woody? Tackman preceded her in death. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday and one hour before the service Tuesday at Mahn Family Funeral Home ? Larson Chapel in Zumbrota. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or a charity of the Donor?s choice.
