Phillip Arthur Hilden, 94, of Red Wing, died Sunday, January 6, 2019 at St. Crispin Living Community. He was born November 28, 1924 to Arthur and Ruth (Swanson) Hilden in Trenton Township, Wisconsin. At 21 he moved to Red Wing and on February 23, 1946 he married Audrey Zemke at Bethel Covenant Church in Hager City. The couple made their home in Red Wing where they raised two children. Phillip worked at LaGrange Shoe and then the S. B. Foot Tannery until his retirement. Together, Phil and Audrey enjoyed traveling. They loved to drive out west to visit national parks and to their favorite place in Branson, Missouri. Phil also enjoyed listening to country music and cheering on the Minnesota Twins.
He is survived by two children, Vicky (Donald) Bohn of Victoria, Minn. and Kathleen (Andrew) Malec of St. Paul, Minn.; three grandchildren, Noel Stiller, Derek Stiller and Tristan Malec; one great grandson, Brodie Stiller; two brothers, Floyd and Lawrence Hilden; one sister, Jeannie Hilden.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Audrey; two siblings, Pauline and Mary; and his parents.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at First Covenant Church with Rev. Marc Eix officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church.
