Philip Joseph Hegseth

Funeral services for Philip Hegseth will be held Tuesday June 16th at 2:00 PM at Hegre Lutheran Church, rural Kenyon. The Reverend Richard Hegal will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Hegseth, 94, of Pine Island, died Friday June 12, 2009 at Saint Mary's Hospital in
Rochester.
Philip Joseph Hegseth was born August 20, 1914 in Goodhue County, Minnesota, to Peter and Josephine Hegseth. A lifelong resident of Southeastern Minnesota, he farmed in Dodge County for many years. He married Jeanette Myers at Hegre Lutheran Church on November 16, 1979. In retirement, Philip was a grounds caretaker for Mr. Wayne Brown of Waseca. Philip enjoyed being outdoors, traveling, and woodworking. He was a member of Hegre Lutheran Church, and the Eagles' Lodge in Waseca.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette "Jean" Hegseth; a daughter, Bonnie (Mrs. Ron) Flitsch; and a granddaughter, Elisha Joecks, all of Pine Island. Also surviving is a sister, Joyce Kihlgren of Pine Island; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elfrieda Hegseth; a great-grandchild, Annabelle Joecks; two brothers, Oberg and John Hegseth; and two sisters, Ella Hegseth, and Otilla Nyberg.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Mahn Family Funeral Home, Mahler Chapel, in Pine Island is in charge of arrangements.
