Philip David Haukom

Philip Haukom, age 60, of Rochester, passed away Monday, March 28, 2022 at his home.  Philip was born May 5, 1961 in Rochester, Minnesota.  He graduated from Byron High School in 1980 and had lived and worked in the Rochester area his whole life.

Phil had a love for plants and gardening, spending many hours expanding the landscape around the home and sending seedlings home with others.  He loved spending time with his nieces and nephews, and his beloved cat.   Phil had a unique smile and a goofy sense of humor, reminding everyone of his zest and joy for life. He enjoyed working at the nursing home because Phil had a special loving touch working with the elderly.

Phil is survived by his mother, Ilene;  four sisters, Barb Bates of Little Falls, Minnesota, Liz (Warren) Hauger of Stewartville, Minnesota, Vicky Haukom of Pensacola, Florida and Missy (Darrick) Kostel of Rochester, Minnesota;  five nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Verlyn.  The memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2022 at Mahn Family Funeral Home – Rochester Chapel, with Pastor Linda Helberg officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
