Phalon J. Berg
Phalon Justice Berg, 84, formally of Bloomington, died Thursday, August 16, 2007, at the Red Wing Health Center. Phalon was born February 19, 1923 in Lake City, to Martin and Mildred (DeWitt) Berg. He graduated from Lake City High School and then entered the U.S. Army where he was stationed overseas until being honorably discharged in 1945. He enjoyed golfing and dancing.
He is survived by three children, Linda (Richard) Hart of Red Wing, Vaughn (Audrey) Berg of St. Paul, and Kirby (Bev) Berg of Florida; step-son, Rob Grey of Pequot Lakes; six siblings, Phillip (Betty Lou) Berg of Red Wing, Rose Marie Lewis of Red Wing, Keith (Ruby) Berg of Minnetonka, David (Liz) Berg of Springfield, MO, Becky Bryant of Jenkins, Minn, and Dan (Mavis) Berg of Newport, Minn; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, August 23, 2007, at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, assembly area 5. Arrangements handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
