Pete Esser

Our dear brother, Gerard “Pete” Esser, 67, of Pine Island, died suddenly and unexpectedly at his home on November 12, 2020. He was born in Zumbrota on November 14, 1952 to John and Theresa “Mary” (Weber) Esser. He attended school in Zumbrota and graduated in 1972. On November 4, 1972, he was united in marriage to Gana Sainsbury in Albert Lea. Pete was a gentle man with a heart of gold and was always there when you needed him. His passions were wood working, fishing, and gardening. He also enjoyed playing horseshoes, cards, and bean bags.

He is survived by his siblings, John (JoAnne) Esser, Bill (Kathy) Esser, Sherry (Karroll) Bublitz, Linda (Merlyn) Unger, Larry (Pat) Esser, Jim (Kay) Esser, and Carla (Chuck) Klepperich; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gana; and nephew, Martin Esser.
