Perry Gale Hanson, 67, of Red Wing, died Monday, November 7, 2022 at Valentine’s Assisted Living. He was born August 8, 1955 in Red Wing to Vernon and Helen (Freeberg) Hanson. He attended Red Wing High School and enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served in Vietnam. Following his honorable discharged in 1974 he returned to Red Wing. In 1978 he married Sheryl Bartz and the couple had two children. They later divorced. Perry spent most of his life painting houses for a living. He enjoyed the work and was proud of his skills. He also enjoyed woodworking.
Perry was proud of his sobriety, celebrating nearly 10 years. He was soft spoken and thoughtful in his later years. He enjoyed the outdoors, particularly fishing and watching the eagles. He enjoyed tinkering with things in the garage, especially classic cars. He looked forward to spending time with his grandchildren.
Perry is survived by his two children; Bobbi Hanson of Red Wing, and Bradly (Carrie) Hanson of Hager City; 7 grandchildren, Austin, Shane, Kaleb, Emily, Gabriella, Damiana, and Zachary; 3 great-grandchildren, Rosabelle, Rhaiella, and Zaylan; brother, Tyrone Hanson of Red Wing; sister-in-law, Becky Hanson of Red Wing and two nephews, David and Ray.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ricky Lee and Vernon, Jr.
