Margaret "Peggy" Helen Rose Harding, 63, of Bay City, died Wednesday, September 08, 2010 at her home. She was born October 13, 1946 in Red Wing to Harvey and Helen (Haustein) Jeske and was a 1964 graduate of Red Wing Central High School. On September 9, 1967, she married Edward Harding at St. Joseph's Church in Red Wing. She had worked as a computer programmer at the Red Wing Shoe Company, having worked there 42 years, until retiring in 2006. Peggy was always very active, and rarely slowed down. She had been a part of the Red Wing Women's softball league for 36 years, the Red Wing Bowling league for over 20 years and the Red Wing YMCA women's volleyball league. She loved animals of all kinds, having rescued a few here and there, but she especially loved horses. She also had enjoyed going deer hunting, dancing and polka music , spending time at the family cabin in Michigan and was a fan of the Green Bay Packers and Bruce Willis.
She is survived by her husband, Edward "Jesse" Harding of Bay City; 2 children, Alisa (Michael) Earp of Goodhue and Dustin (Sara) Harding of Bay City; 5 grandchildren, Robby (Ashley), Cassie, Jessica, Nicholas and Taylor; great-grandson, Sylas; 5 siblings, Mary "Doulie" Williams, Fred (Sherry) Jeske, Rita (Tom)Mitchener and Al (Cheri) Jeske all of Red Wing and Mona (Dave) Kees of DeSmet, South Dakota.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Diane Ableidinger
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with the Adoray Hospice Chaplin, Roger Kastelle, officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Memorials preferred to the Goodhue County Humane Society.
