Peggy Lea Conroy, 48, of Wheat Ridge, Colo., and formerly of Red Wing, died Friday, June 20, 2008 at her residence. She was born March 24, 1960 in Plum City to Joseph and Madelyn (Grant) Conroy. She attended schools in Red Wing and worked at various businesses including Smead's and Treasure Island. She moved to Colorado in 2005 where she worked for Coors Industries. She enjoyed gardening and flowers, fishing, hiking in the mountains, and motorcycling.
She is survived by her son, John Conroy of Red Wing; five brothers, Eugene (Laurie) Farnsworth of St. Paul, Michael (Marilyn) Conroy of Red Wing, Tom (Sharon) Conroy of Red Wing, Richard (Kathleen) Conroy of Northfield, Scott Conroy of Red Wing; four sisters, Linda (Jim) Pomeranz of Faribault, Karen Peters of Red Wing, Kathleen Conroy of Baltimore, Maryland, Julie Conroy of Red Wing; several nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Susan Gernentz.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Rev. Ron Stehr officiating. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Pat, Chad, Amanda Peters, Joshua and Jordan Gernentz, Michael J. Conroy, Jr., Michael A. Conroy and Joe Conroy. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service.
