Pearl Viola Aslakson, 91, of Red Wing, died Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Bay View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on March 28, 1930, in Red Wing to Chester and Edith (Senkbeil) Jacques. She attended Red Wing Schools and on February 8, 1958, she was united in marriage to John Aslakson. They resided in Red Wing where they owned and operated Hy-Way Inn from 1961-1971. She then went on to work for Jostens for 23 years, retiring in 1995. She was a member of United Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed her computer, watching the birds, was an animal lover, especially dogs, but most of all she enjoyed the company of her family and friends.
Pearl is survived by her three children, Lottie (Patti Jackson) Aslakson of Red Wing, John (Tammi) Aslakson of Red Wing and James (Janel) Aslakson of Prescott; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; one brother, Howard Jacques, one sister, Lois Wedrickas and her step children, Larry Aslakson, Joyce Becker and Beverly Durdahl.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 24, 2022, at United Lutheran Church in Red Wing with Reverend Justin Boeding officiating. Burial will be at the Burnside Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are by the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
