Paul Bernard Qualy

Paul B. Qualy age 90 of Owatonna, formerly of Zumbrota died on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at the Traditions II of Owatonna. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, February 25, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Olaf Catholic Church, 215 So. 8th St., Minneapolis. Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the mass at the church.
Paul Bernard Qualy was born on February 5, 1923 in Cashton, WI to B.A. and Gertrude (Dolan) Qualy. The first eighteen years of Paul's life was spent in Caledonia, MN living life through many activities including sports, music, academics and being a good son and brother. He graduated from Loreto High School in June of 1941. His college career was interrupted by enlisting in the U.S. Army after Pearl Harbor. After his honorable discharge he resumed his college studies at Notre Dame University in South Bend, IN; graduating in 1947. On June 26, 1948 he was united in marriage to June Ahlfs at Notre Dame University. Paul worked in a subsidiary of General Motors and they lived in Detroit for several years. In 1950 they moved to Minneapolis and Paul started working for Honeywell Inc. In 1960 Paul started working as a business consultant and he conducted business throughout the United States. He also was an author and had many articles on process engineering published, along with educational materials. In 1996 they moved to Zumbrota and in 2011 they moved to Owatonna. Paul enjoyed his grandchildren, MN Twins baseball, local and state politics and being his own automobile mechanic. He was a member of the American Legion.
Paul is survived by his wife, June of Owatonna; sons, Paul C. (Robin) Qualy of Lake City, IA, Peter (Becky) Qualy of Indianapolis, IN, Stephen Qualy of Shakopee and Phillip (Paula Johnson) Qualy of Minneapolis and many grandchildren. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Thomas and daughter, Ellen Mary Qualy.
Arrangements are with the Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel in Zumbrota.
