Paul Arvid Peterson, 46 of Welch died Wednesday in Welch. He was born May 5, 1960 in Red Wing, the son of Seth N. and Agnette (Simonson) Peterson. He was a 1979 graduate of Red Wing Central High School. He worked for Riedell and Red Wing Shoes for a number of years and worked in construction in Florida for a short time. He returned to help his brother Wayne work on the family farm in Welch. He owned and operated Paul?s Tree Service and also had an organic hobby farm. He was a member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church and the Welch Pool League. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing checkers and traveling. Survivors include his mother, Agnette of Bay City; nine siblings: Garnet (Rod) Nygren of Belton, Missouri, Frank (Carol) Peterson of Bay City, Seth D. (June) Peterson of Welch, Margaret (Calvin) Pflaum of Farmington, Carol (John) Shinske of St. Petersburg, Florida, Wayne (Gwen) Peterson of Welch, Linda (Daniel) Smith of Red Wing, Lisa (Don) Tesch of New Port Richey, Florida and Mary (Brian) Nordby of Bay City; special friend Gail LaFavor of Rosemount; godmother, Myrtle Peterson of Welch; many nieces and nephews; many friends. He was preceded in death by his father Seth N. in 1991, many aunts and uncles. Funeral will be 11 a. m. Saturday at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, Welch with Reverend Michael Dobbins officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. LeRoy Peterson, Andy Lincoln, Dale Strusz, Larry Gustafson, Cory Leiseth and Mick Gardner. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p. m. Friday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and on Saturday for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to donor?s choice.
