Paul Dennis Curry, 86, of Bay City, Wisconsin, died Friday, March 7, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born October 29, 1938, in Monroe County, Wisconsin, to Lawrence and Jesse (Galvin) Curry. After he graduated from Tomah High School, he enlisted in the US Airforce in 1956. He served until he was honorably discharge in 1960. He married Bonnie Johnson (Meyer) on April 26, 1986, and they made their home in Bay City. He spent the majority of his working career with the US Post Office, working until his retirement. Paul had a passion for music and especially loved Frank Sinatra. His love for music carried over into his volunteer work, where he had helped at the Prairie View Music Department and was the choir director at Svea Lutheran Church. Paul looked forward to his fishing trips to Canada with family and friends, where he could often be found singing a tune out on the lake. He was a life-long Green Bay Packer fan. He also had a large collection of WWII books and movies. Paul was an animal lover and especially loved his dog, Bailey.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; son, Paul B.; step-daughter, Lori Welt; step-children, Mike Curry, Mark Curry and Christine Curry; step-son-in-law, Tom Odell; grandchildren, Niki, Sara, Dan, Cassie, Kristi, Lindsay, Ashley, Nicholas and Quinn and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Jimmy; brother, Tom; sister, Marilu Witzke; daughter, Stephanie; step-children, Randy Johnson, Debra Odell, and step-son-in-law, Michael Welt.
Memorial service by the family will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 14, 2025 at Svea Lutheran Church with Rev. Alex Aakre officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Red Wing. In lieu of flowers direct memorials to Svea Lutheran Church or the River Bluff Humane Society.
