Paul Dean Brown, 73, of Hastings, passed away after a brief illness, Sunday, February 18th. He was born on July 17th,1950 in Wyatt, Missouri to Paul Brown Sr. and Virginia Sailors. He went to 12 different schools growing up but graduated from Pelican Rapids High School. When in school he played football, basketball, and ran track. He graduated in 1968. Following high school graduation he attended Bemidji State University and then enlisted into the army and served as a medic. He went on to attend the University of Minnesota and graduated in 1974 with a Mortuary Science degree.

On September 5th, 1970 he married Marsha Lucht, and together they had a son, Christopher. Paul was the owner of the Bemidji Funeral Chapel for several years and then decided to change paths to video stores. He owned and operated 5 Tapedek stores from 1985-1997. In 1991 he purchased the Red Wing Mall. Paul later divorced and moved to Manasota Key, Florida. Paul enjoyed fishing, boating, the beach, the sun, and being in Florida.

Paul is survived by his son, Chris (Amber), grandchildren Bella and Beau, siblings Mike (Jeanie) and Retha. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A private burial service for the family will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a future date.
