Paul Richard Biltz, age 67, of Red Wing, died Friday, January 19, 2007, at his home. He was born on March 25, 1939, in Minneapolis, to Francis and Mavis (Tennis) Biltz. He was a graduate of Hopkins High School and attended Concordia College, a military academy in Minneapolis and the University of Minnesota. He served in the Air National Guard, the U.S. Army as a small arms instructor, and during the Gulf War as a biomedical specialist. He worked as a pilot for Northwest Air Lines, for Long Lake Nursery, for the Minnesota Highway Department, and as an inspector for the railroad. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Minnetonka. He moved to Red Wing in 1980. He enjoyed books, history, ordnance and animals. Survivors include his mother, Mavis of Red Wing; one sister, Carolyn (Harold) Poylio of Welch; one sister-in-law, Hannelore (Samuel) MacKinney of Hager City; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Francis; and one brother, John Biltz. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Reverend Ron Stehr officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the time of services Friday at the funeral home.
