Patricia Jean Lexvold was born on August 7, 1936 in Red Wing, MN to Ervin and Eileen (McWaters) Lexvold. Pat grew up in Zumbrota and graduated from Zumbrota High School in 1954. Pat also attended St. Olaf College for one year before moving to Rochester, and working for the Mayo Clinic from 1955-1958. Pat married Bob Kalass on August 16, 1958 at Lands Lutheran Church in Zumbrota. While Bob was in the US Air Force, they lived together in Sacramento, California and Alabama. Since 1965, Pat has lived in Zumbrota where she was a homemaker, and was very active in the community. She participated in Meals on Wheels and helped in therapy for children with cystic fibrosis, along with her other community activities. Pat had a love of all sports, especially participating in bowling and golf. Pat enjoyed tailgating at Vikings' games, birdwatching, gardening, playing bridge and spending time with friends and family.
Pat is survived by her two sons, Scott (Ann) of Northville, MI. and Todd (Patty) of Houston, TX; four grandchildren, Natalie, Katie, Haley and Erik; one sister, Pamela (Jim) Jones of Minneapolis; niece, Jessica; and nephew, Christopher.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Kalass.

Patricia J. Kalass, age 79, of Zumbrota passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the Zumbrota Health Services. A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 28, 2016 at 1:00 PM at United Redeemer Lutheran Church with Reverend Dr. Marggi J. Pleiss-Sippola officiating. Burial will be in the Zumbrota Cemetery. A one hour visitation will be held prior to the service at the church on Monday.
