Patricia Joy Freiheit, 56, of Red Wing, died on March 18, 2011 at the Fairview Seminary Home. She was born of September 13, 1954 in Rochester, Minnesota to Marvin and Darlene (Hilke) Thune. She graduated in 1972 from John Marshall High School in Rochester. She then joined the US Army and served during the Vietnam War as a communication specialist. Following her discharge she returned to Rochester where she started her family and attended Rochester Community College, studying communications. She worked at KTTC for 14 years as a director and technical director. In 2000 she moved to Red Wing to be close to her daughter and grandson. She enjoyed Harley Davidsons, hard rock and having a good time with the ones she loved.
Survivors include one daughter, Erin Bakke (Brian) Karlstad of Red Wing; one grandson, Ethan Ruff; her parents; one sister Liz Thune of Red Wing; one brother, Michael Thune of Salinas, Cal. and nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by one brother, Richard Thune; grandparents and one nephew.
